The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) announced today its partnership with Lexus as the Official Vehicle of the 2023 APP Chicago Open, held August 30 – September 3.
The agreement expands the partnership between Lexus and the APP that started in 2022 and has continued through the 2023 season with Lexus as the official sponsor of APP Tour events in Cincinnati and St. Louis. As part of Lexus’ sponsorship of the 2023 APP Chicago Open, the Lexus brand will be immersed into the APP Tour with in-venue branding and visibility, including vehicle displays, signage, social media promotion, and inclusion in the APP Tour broadcast on ESPN2 and in livestream coverage on ESPN+.
The 2023 APP Chicago Open will be held at Danny Cunniff Park, located in suburban Highland Park on the North Shore of the Chicago metro area. The venue features 26 courts, including a centerpiece Championship Court featuring stadium-style seating. More than 800 players are expected to compete in this year’s tournament, the APP’s fifth edition of its hometown event. Amateurs of all ages and skill levels will compete alongside the sport’s elite professionals in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events.
“The APP is pleased to team up with Lexus as they return as the Official Vehicle of our longest-running event, the APP Chicago Open,” commented Ryan McSpadden, APP Chief Revenue Officer. “Last year’s event was a hit, and this year’s promises to be even more exciting. Lexus continues to be a valued partner of the APP – we are proud to support their commitment to growing the sport of pickleball.”
“Chicago-area Lexus dealers are proud to partner with the APP Tour for the upcoming APP Chicago Open,” said Jason Keller, General Manager of Lexus – Central Area. “As pickleball participation and interest continues to boom in the Midwest, our sponsorship of professional pickleball is a natural fit for Lexus, a brand that values excellence, innovation and passion. We are thrilled to support the local pickleball fans and athletes who demonstrate those same qualities and dedicate themselves to the sport.”
